What's a Truth Pick you ask? A Truth Pick is a short, sharp commentary designed to extract 'Truth' from a Quote, pithy saying, epigram or graffiti. I send these out about 2-3 times per week. My goal is to see if they strike a chord with anyone and if they do, to continue generating them. |

A perfect method |

Between the assigning and the deadline there exists a measurable, finite amount of time. From start to finish each moment is like each other when measured by the tick of the clock, but worlds apart when tallied by the beat of our hearts. The early moments we allow to glide by in leisure, the latter ones escape us flying by in haste. We perceive the passage of time, as either slow or blinding according to the time we have remaining. There’s no fool proof protection against the ‘unavoidable’ delay, except be done before it arrives. Each day we delay a task allows old Murphy to gather strength. Things happen at the worst possible time, because by leaving things until the last moment, that’s the only type of time we have remaining. Every grain of sand in the hourglass is at our disposal to use, or waste, as we see fit. In their multitudes they are firm enough to stand upon. Only at the end do they become quicksand. Absolutely nothing that happens tomorrow, can delay a task we completed yesterday. (c) 2002 Peter de Jager - Pdejager@truthpicks.com |
