What's a Truth Pick you ask? A Truth Pick is a short, sharp commentary designed to extract 'Truth' from a Quote, pithy saying, epigram or graffiti. I send these out about 2-3 times per week. My goal is to see if they strike a chord with anyone and if they do, to continue generating them. |

If error is corrected |

There are no contradictions in nature; the world is the way it is and was meant to be. Water’s wet and ice is cold, rocks fall down and we grow old. The world is as it is, our challenge is to see this clearly. Problems exist only when we are ignorant of the way the world works, or when we arrogantly demand that our desires rule reality. Encountering a contradiction provides a rare opportunity to explore the gap between what we think is true, and reality. Our errors are merely wrinkles in our wisdom, and like grains of sand in an oyster, can yield up pearls. Example? Things shrink as they get colder, which means they get heavier... yet ice floats. We can ignore the visible contradiction, or seek to unravel the mystery and grow wiser. The choice is always ours. Someone acts in a manner which seems contradictory. We can assume the problem lies with them, or with our understanding of their actions. Again, the choice is ours. Contradictions are symptoms of our misconceptions crashing against reality.
